This brick tower stands as a testament to the once-powerful Austro-Hungarian Empire and was built in 1896 to commemorate a millennium of rule in the region. Officially opened on August 20, 1896, the tower provides panoramic views over the rooftops of Zemun and the bell tower of St. Nicholas Church.
